New Photos For Ice Machine and Port Lights

Ice Machine is here: http://svroshambo.com/v/icemachine/ As you can see I yanked the cabinet out and installed a Raritan Icerette, it makes 22 lbs of ice per day!

Portlights are here http://svroshambo.com/v/portlights/ at this point in time I won't have the remaining ones until we get back from the bahamas.

Current list of projects.....
-finish building cabinet for ice machine
-put in the other portlight
-finish aft flooring
-install new engine room blower
-and the big one, finish painting the deck

Still lots of stuff to do before we leave!

More Deck Painting and First Port Light Installed!

I finished painting the cabin deck above the salon.

We also installed the first port light from New Found Metals. Only 7 more to go LOL.

Sanding....

Well I've got the deck above the salon sanded and the deck behind the cockpit sanded. It's slow going, but I'm getting it done. Prolly sand the cockpit next, but not sure, I might do the bow first.

Ice Maker is ordered, 22lbs of ice per day is gonna be soooo nice in the bahamas, plus it frees up freezer space.

Still working on the enclosure, I am having doubts that we will have everything done for the bahamas, but screw it. This year we are going even if i don't have it all done!

Deck Painting Round 2.... the good stuff

I have started painting the deck with the Kiwi grip. This stuff is AMAZING, I absolutely love it. It is a miracle paint as far as I am concerned. LOVE IT!!! pics to come soon.

History Of The Cal 46

Well first let me say this is plagiarized from the old cal46.org site and decided that I would do what I could to keep the info available. I apologize and will remove this at once if asked to do so.

The boat that changed everything, the Cal 40---the fore-runner of the Cal 46

The following is from an article that appeared in Sailing Magazine:

Cal46.org Gone

I just noticed that the site is gone. While it wasn't a huge resource at this point in time, it was nice to have a place with some info. I wish I could get in contact with the owner, I would at least keep the data up.

That said I have registered Cal46.info I am not yet sure what I will do with it. For now I will probably just point it here and if some interest develops then I will turn it into a forum or resource site or something to that effect. I'm open to suggestion and would like to hear from some other cal 46 owners!

Thanks

Installed New Cockpit Speakers!

Polk Audio Atrium 45's they blow the doors off the crappy west marine brand speakers. I also installed a fusion audio ipod deck and remote in the cockpit. Really nice set up I am very impressed.

The only down side to the polks is they make our salon speakers sound like shit LOL I used to be happy with them!

Cork Flooring In Aft Cabin

Unfortunately we ran short. I got the galley and most of the aft cabin done. Head is not done. Varnish is not on yet.

Back in the water!

We're back at the dock. Sling seems to have done some damage to the hull paint, not to happy about that. I've decided I'm going to have to sand the deck paint down and repaint with the kiwigrip paint. the paint i used is just too slick and it's not staying stuck down. I guess that's what I get for trying to use the old non skid. Oh well.

Next thing on the list is finishing the aft flooring. I want to get that done soon.

Lots of work

I sanded the ENTIRE hull myself yesterday, tons of work. Today was wipe down, tape out and primer. Paint tomorrow, splash monday..... it's the home stretch!!!
