Roshambo, our floating home. Check here for photos, regularily updated blog and stories of our adventures. Stuart, on South Hutchinson Island.

Specs: Roshambo is a Cal 3-46, as far as i can figure out there were about 25 3-46's made and close to 100 2-46's made. Both the designer and the manufacturer retired to a Cal 46. They are 46 feet long, 12'6" wide. Roshambo has a bridge clearance of 55 feet, draft of 5' and displacement of 31,000. Cutter rigged and driven by an 85hp Perkins she is a pretty quick bluewater cruiser.

Replaced the Starting Batteries

They've been pretty much dead for the last year or better, only hold about half the charge they should have so I replaced them!

Replaced the Crapper Pump

That's always as much fun as expected, anytime i work on the head it's miserable. Showered with dial handsoap then regular soap, double wash LOL

High Pressure Pump Works!

I ended up using some cleaning solution on the watermaker, then rinsing then pickling, pump worked great so that was definitely a bonus. Ended up costing me $85 for the seal kits, i ordered a spare of course.

Rebuilt the High Pressure Pump For the Watermaker

Got my little kit of seals for $85, I was impressed I was able to find a home for all of them, still haven't tested it so we shall see!

Staysail Repair

Well we had some issues with the staysail, first and foremost the sail need replacement, it's in pretty tired shape. What we also noticed on this trip was the roller furling is toast, it needs to be either rebuild or replaced, so I removed both the sail and the roller today I need to see what I can do from here to get them repaired or replaced.

Back In Florida

Well we had a great trip, the stream was a little nasty on the return trip, but we made great time, sailed most of it. Can't wait to go back.

Hola Bahamas!

We made it to green turtle today, lol. We crossed saturday and had a great crossing, we sailed south, turned in front of the Jupiter Inlet and had a decent run to Little Bahama Bank, very little wind, seemed like it was less then 5 the whole time accross the stream.

Ok the 55 knot wind story

This story deserves its own post even if there are other things to be posted tonight.
